I’ve posted a few simple recipes for homemade beauty treatments but here are a few links to websites that have a wealth of resources.

First up is my favourite site, it’s in French though, so if your French is not up to scratch, arm yourself with a dictionary. You can buy all the products needed for the recipes from the same company, as well as starter kits and a selection of books. What’s great about this site is the huge number of recipes available free on-line, ranging from creams and lotions, to make-up and bath products. Easy to follow and quite addictive!

To buy the ingredients go direct to:

There is an English link on the front page but the offer is not the same as the French site, and you don’t get the recipes.

They also have a blog with their latest news, again only in French

An alternative to AromaZone, with an English version, is DouxMe, a company founded by a Swiss aromatherapist, which makes organic cosmetics. The founder has put on line her beauty tips and recipes.

Once you see how easy it is to make your own beauty products, and how much cheaper it is compared to what you buy in the shops, without all the added chemicals, I’m sure you’ll be hooked.

It’s better for your skin and better for the environment, what more could you ask.
