Carrots are rich in vitamins, minerals and beta-carotene, a powerful antioxydant.

According to Josephine Fairley in The ultimate natural beauty book, they “are packed with skin-renewing vitamins including provitamins A,B and C (which makes them useful for ageing skins, because they help restore skin’s elasticity, helping make it touch-me-soft; they also have a tautening, ‘face-lifting’ action – as well as being anti-inflammatory and helping to fight off skin infections)”.

No wonder your mother told you to eat your carrots!

For the mask, you will need:

2 carrots

1 egg

1 tsp olive oil

instant mash powder (yes really!)

Method

Grate the carrots finely, add the egg white and the teaspoon of olive oil and mix.

Add a teaspoon of instant mash (if you don’t have any, leave it out – the mask will just be more tricky to spread) to thicken the mixture and stir.

Apply the mask to your face and neck and leave for 20 mins.

Rinse off with warm water.
