Looking for an unusual Christmas gift?

bathbombs

Why not try your hand at making bath bombs. Of course, there’s a great selection at Lush in Bordeaux centre (or online), one of my fave shops, but they’re actually not too difficult to make yourself.

Here’s a seasonal DIY recipe from Humblebee and me for Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh bath bombs:

On the surface this recipe may look daunting. I can understand, the ingredients aren’t so easy to come by, though FYI you can get Gold mica from Aroma Zone – it’s Mica Poudre d’Or ; and turkey red oil is sulfated ricinus communis (castor) oil – huile de ricin sulfatée .

But Hello Natural tried and tested some online bath bomb recipes and found that lots of them didn’t deliver – or, as HN say, there are a lot of crap recipes out there!

So here’s a link to their no-fail bath bomb recipe which you can perfume with whatever essential oil you want.

Now you just have to wrap them in pretty paper, tie with a festive ribbon et voilà, a fantastic homemade gift.

How about a snowman bath bomb?
