Learn to massage with our beginners course

A reminder of our second great offer this month and it’s not just for Valentine’s Day:

Learn basic massage techniques with a professional massage therapist and reap the benefits both at home and at work.

According to new research from Northumbria University, couples who took part in a three-week basic course not only reduced stress and improved their well-being, but also felt more satisfied with their relationship.

If you live in and around Mérignac and Pessac, you can now contact me for courses with you and your significant other, all in the comfort of your own home. You can learn the basics in a just a few hours, and get a massage into the bargain!

Back massage

Effleurage, pressure strokes, hacking, friction, kneading; all these words will suddenly take on a new meaning.

As a couple, you’ll learn how to give your partner a relaxing back massage*, relieving knots in the neck and shoulders, reducing tension in the lower back, taking it in turns to massage each other.

And the big plus side is that you’ll be massaged half the time by your other half, it’s a win-win situation!

No need for you to move from the comfort of your own home, just a phone call to make and your massage lesson is booked. No running about trying to get the kids looked after, no time lost in travelling to and from your appointment, no traffic jams, no worrying about being late, no parking nightmares.

All necessary material brought to your doorstep on time, every time – massage table, oils, clean linen.

You should allow a maximum of two and a half hours for a 2-hour lesson (for setting up and changeovers) with 2 full hours of massage included (1 hour per person).

Special introductory offer 75€ instead of 90€ per 2-hour lesson.

Offer valid until February 28th 2019.

You can offer a massage lesson as a gift voucher (as with all our massages).

* You can also ask for a lesson on massaging the arms, neck and head; or the feet and legs.

To book your course, just call 06.47.14.06.03

Thought for the day

Simple kindness has become an underrated gift, but we have it in us to do little kindnesses every day to show we care.

A Happy New Year to you all

Just Massage wishes you all a very happy and prosperous 2014.

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.

Easy-peasy skincare for mature, lined skin

Mix 2 tsp clear honey with 1 tsp almond oil (if you’ve not got any almond, use sunflower, grapeseed, or even olive oil from the kitchen).

Gently massage into the face and neck for 2-3 minutes.

Rinse off with warm water, pat dry.

Get brighter eyes

Under-eye puffiness?

Reduce salt consumption, drink lots of water and sleep with your head slightly elevated.

Pressure point massage

Take a few moments to do some pressure point massage around the eye.

Just press firmly all around the eye sockets with the middle finger of each hand.

When you get to the eyebrow area, apply pressure into the brow, trying to lift it.

Close your eyes and massage over the eyelids with small circular movements. Don’t forget the lower eyelid.

If frown lines appear deep, take a moment to smooth those lines with  your fingers.

To finish, cup your hands over your closed eyes and stay like this for at least a minute “in the dark”.

Lift hands off slowly.

Help for hands

For rough, dry hands, try this easy recipe:

Mix a little rosewater (from most chemists or even supermarkets) with ground almonds to make a thick paste.

Spread the mixture over your hands and leave for as long as possible – at least 15 minutes.

Rinse off with tepid water, then dry and apply your favourite hand cream.

To soothe chapped hands try this overnight treatment:

Blend 25 drops chamomile or lavender essential oil in 50 ml almond oil.

Massage into your hands at night to soothe and moisturise. Wear cotton gloves for maximum benefit.
